Subject: A beautifully produced 120-year old kids' book.
This beautifully produced kids' book is a sheer delight.

'Christmas Roses' is of excellent quality, it is well preserved and its artwork shows little or no signs of faded colors after the passage of more than a century. It's a good insight into just how good high quality production printing of 120 years ago could actually be.

To get a better appreciation of the actual quality I'd suggest the reader downloads and expands the JPEG 2000 file, christmasroses00lawsiala_jp2.zip. Therein, each page is presented as a separate high quality JPEG 2000 (.jp2) file.

(BTW, printing inks of the time often consisted of intensely colored metallic-based pigments. Whilst very stable over time, many are now considered too toxic to use and thus would not be permitted today.)

Beautifully illustrated, although the poems are somewhat sappy, but then, this is today.

Subject: Wow! Great illustrations
Beautifully illustrated, too bad the magnify feature of Flipbook does not work.
